Zaic Design was approached by an international conglomerate with headquarters in Germany to tackle significant challenges with their paste milling process in their Pennsylvania plant.Paste milling is a process used to grind and mix paste materials into a fine consistency. This process is commonly used in industries such as manufacturing and pharmaceuticals where precise mixing and grinding are crucial.
Our client, the largest U.S. manufacturer of low- and intermediate-temperature polymer solar thermal heating systems, faced significant inefficiencies in their production process. To provide some context for the application: each solar heating panel assembly consists of a flat, extruded plastic panel with numerous small tubes for water circulation.
Our client faced critical challenges with manually jarring a highly viscous paste filled with precious metals. This method was not only inefficient but also resulted in significant material loss. Given the high value and unique properties of this paste, the client sought to automate the process to improve precision and reduce waste.
