When a critical laser welding and assembly system began to fail, Zaic Design stepped in to solve the problem. But we didn’t just restore functionality—we improved precision and automated capabilities beyond the original design. Learn how our innovative approach turned a complex challenge into a success.
Zaic Design was approached by an international conglomerate with headquarters in Germany to tackle significant challenges with their paste milling process in their Pennsylvania plant.
Paste milling is a process used to grind and mix paste materials into a fine consistency. This process is commonly used in industries such as manufacturing and pharmaceuticals where precise mixing and grinding are crucial.
Our client, the largest U.S. manufacturer of low- and intermediate-temperature polymer solar thermal heating systems, faced significant inefficiencies in their production process.
To provide some context for the application: each solar heating panel assembly consists of a flat, extruded plastic panel with numerous small tubes for water circulation.
Our client faced critical challenges with manually jarring a highly viscous paste filled with precious metals. This method was not only inefficient but also resulted in significant material loss. Given the high value and unique properties of this paste, the client sought to automate the process to improve precision and reduce waste.
Ordering 3D prints and CNC machined parts has become as easy as clicking a few buttons and uploading your STL files. Why use a local prototyping shop like Zaic Design? 1.Confidentiality: When you are designing components for a new product, you need to trust that your drawings will not be Read more…
A few years ago, Zaic Design teamed up with Enterprise Color Solutions to deliver a turnkey automation system to one of our clients. Here is a brief summary of that project. Case Study: Problem: >20,000 measurement data points needed for a new research and development effort. Each measurement required a Read more…
Last year we received a series of fixture design requests centered around one user question: How to hold small slippery objects in mid-air for color measurement. While investigating this design task one fact was immediately obvious: A loosely held object could slip and fall directly into the measurement chamber of Read more…
When we first received the call to design a magazine targeted at the Textile and Apparel industry, we were intimidated. Our client wanted to break away from their usual corporate design language and move toward a more flashy and playful aesthetic. As the world leader in color measurement science, Datacolor Read more…
